Data Corrections for Gairaigo.Jepang.org

Language is living, and lexical data can always be improved. If you find an entry that seems inaccurate, a translation that feels off, a stiff example, or a doubtful source-language note, your report helps keep Gairaigo.Jepang.org useful.

1. How to Report

Send your report by email to [email protected]. To make review easier, include the page link or word, the part you think is wrong, and the correction you suggest.

If you have a supporting source, such as a dictionary, textbook, corpus example, or clear usage reference, include it too. Reports without sources are still welcome, but specific reports are usually easier to understand.

2. Types of Errors We Accept

We accept corrections for inaccurate translations, definitions that lose context, unnatural example sentences, wrong furigana or readings, incorrect Wasei-Eigo labels, unsupported source-language notes, and typos in public text.

You can also report pages that feel confusing, too technical, or not helpful enough for learners. Corrections are not only about fixing typos; they also help make explanations clearer and more useful.

3. Review Process

Every report is manually reviewed before a change is applied. We compare feedback against available data and prioritize improvements that can be explained clearly to readers.

We cannot promise that every report will be accepted or updated immediately. Some feedback needs additional checking, especially when it involves word origins, Wasei-Eigo status, or subtle meaning differences.

4. A Helpful Report

A useful report might say: “On the アセス page, the second example feels unnatural because phrase X is usually used in context Y. I suggest sentence Z.” This gives us the location, reason, and direction for improvement.

For source-language corrections, explain the claim that should change and the source that supports it. We handle evidence boundaries carefully, so reports with reasons are easier to review.
